“Mizuma no Yado” is a renovated old private house built in the Taisho era overlooking the ancient Mizuma-dera Temple.

About the room
“Mizuma no yado” is a two-story house.
“Mizuma no yado” is a two-story building. Both the first and second floors are at your disposal when you stay at the inn or use the rental space.

Mizuma no Yado consists of an entrance, a large Japanese-style room, a kitchen, a washroom/laundry room, and a shower room on the first floor; the second floor consists of a Western-style room, two Japanese-style rooms that can be partitioned off with fusuma sliding doors, and a balcony.
The shower room does not have a bathtub, but is equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, and is recommended for long stays.
The room can accommodate up to 8 people.
Exterior
Mizuma no yado is located near Mizuma-dera Temple, an ancient temple in Kaizuka City, Osaka Prefecture.
It is located on Mizuma-Yakuyoke Kaido, one of the approach roads from the nearest station, Mizuma-Kannon Station, to Mizuma-dera Temple.
Entrance
The entrance to Mizuma no Yado is spacious, and suitcases, bicycles, baby strollers, etc. can be left in place.
Clog boxes and slippers are available for your use.
When entering the entrance, a number key box system is used to take out the key.
We will inform you how to check-in and open the key after you make a reservation.

The front entrance leads to the stairs to the second floor, the kitchen and shower room on the left, and the first floor Japanese-style room and restroom on the right.
Japanese-style room 1F
First, let’s take a look at the Japanese-style room on the first floor, which is the main room of Mizuma no yado.
It is located to the right as you enter through the entrance. The main room is a large Japanese-style room with an alcove.
Two four-seater tables and plenty of zabuton (Japanese cushions) are available, so that up to eight people can spend a comfortable time.
Also on display here is the “ Enkazura,” which is the waist of the Danjiri (festival float) that was used in this area in the past.
Enjoy an up-close look at the dynamic carvings that were used on the actual Danjiri.

To the right of the alcove in the main room is a hallway that leads to the restroom at the back.

Kitchen
The kitchen is located to the left of the entrance. The kitchen has full kitchen specifications equivalent to those of a regular home.
There are two induction cooktops and one radiant heater, and a grill is included.
Basic condiments and cooking utensils are provided. The cupboards are equipped with dishes of various shapes and sizes, so you can bring your own food and enjoy cooking.
There is also a small table and chairs in the kitchen, so you can have a simple meal such as breakfast.
There is a wide sink.
There are two induction cooktops and one radiant heater.
A wide variety of dishes are available in the cupboards.
Washbasin, dressing room, shower room
The kitchen leads to a wash stand, changing room, and shower room.
At Mizuma no Yado, all towels are made of locally produced Senshu towels, which are soft to the touch and highly absorbent.

2F, Western-style room
Next, we will show you the rooms on the second floor.
Up the stairs in front of the entrance, you will find a Western-style room.There are sofas and tables for one and three persons.
From this Western-style room, you can go out onto the balcony.
A few books and manga are available.
The furnishings are a blend of Japanese and Western styles to match the building.
The balcony can be reached from the front window.
2F, Japanese-style room
The Japanese-style room on the second floor is connected to the Western-style room. These rooms are separated by fusuma (sliding doors) and are four and six tatami mats in size.
Here, too, there is a zataku (Japanese low table) for four persons and a zabuton (Japanese cushion).
You can also lay out the futon for a good night’s sleep.
From the southwest window, you can see Mizuma-dera Temple, and from the northeast window, you can see Mizuma-dera Yaku-yoke Kaido Road, and on the day of the annual festival, you can watch Danjiri from above.
The room in the foreground from the staircase is a four-mat room; the air conditioner on the second floor is installed in this room.
This room also has a four-seat seating area.

Balcony
A balcony that can be accessed from a western-style room on the second floor.
The balcony overlooks Mizuma-dera Temple, an ancient temple, and offers a view of the nature and traditional scenery of Mizuma while listening to the sound of the murmuring Kogi River that flows just below.
The inn also provides outdoor shades for use on the balcony to protect you from the sun and rain, and a set of outdoor table and chairs so that you can enjoy your meals and chatting on the balcony.
(The outdoor shade, table, and chairs are usually stored in a closet in a western-style room on the second floor. You can set them up yourself or have them installed if you wish at the time of reservation).

About Mizuma no Yado Location
Mizuma no Yado is located in Mizuma, Kaizuka City, Osaka, Japan.
This area is located at the foot of the Izumi-Katsuragi Mountains and is famous for Mizuma-dera Temple, an ancient temple renowned for its ability to ward off bad luck.
It is a town with rich nature and a deep history, along with the Mizuma Railway, which was established to welcome worshippers.
Nearest Station – Mizuma Kannon Station

Mizuma Kannon Station. The distinctive station building is built in the style of a stupa with the visitors of Mizuma Temple in mind.
The nearest station from Mizuma no Yado is Mizuma Kannon Station, the southern terminus of the Mizuma Railway.
The Mizuma Railway is a short line, 5.5 km long, running north-south through Kaizuka City. Trains depart every 20 minutes in the morning and evening, and every 30 minutes at other times.
The ride to Kaizuka Station, the northernmost station, takes about 15 minutes. From Kaizuka Station, passengers can transfer to the Nankai Main Line of Nankai Electric Railway.
The Nankai Main Line runs north to Nankai Namba Station in the Minami area of Osaka City, and south to Kansai Airport Station and Wakayama City Station across the prefectural border.
Mizuma Kannon Station has many attractions, including a station building with “Kin Goma Ki Udon” (flat noodles kneaded with golden sesame), a tour of the waiting room used for the filming of a web drama starring Ken Matsudaira, and a platform with 1000 moss balls of various sizes hanging from it.

Harmony Bus, a welfare-type community bus
Harmony Bus is a community bus that circles around each major station and public facility in Kaizuka City, dividing the city into four color areas.
From the “Mizuma Kannon Station” stop in front of the station, passengers can board either the green or yellow bus route.
The green bus is convenient for access to Izumi-Hashimoto Station, a station on the JR Hanwa Line.
The yellow bus is convenient for sightseeing at the Izumi-Katsuragi trailhead and the rich natural beauty of Okumizuma.

There is a cab stand on the pharmacy side in front of Mizuma Kannon Station.

Sights around Mizuma no Yado

Mizuma is famous for Mizuma-dera Temple, an ancient temple founded by Gyoki Bosatsu, and Mizuma Kannon Station, introduced earlier, is another tourist attraction.
To the southeast is Mt. Izumi-Katsuragi, which borders Nara Prefecture, and offers athletic and other recreational facilities, as well as hot springs surrounded by rich nature.
Izumikatsuragisan is also popular for hiking and cycling/touring, and a very rare virgin beech forest can be seen.
However, the beech forest on Mt. Izumi Katsuragi was designated a national natural monument in 1923 because it is located on the Pacific Ocean side, near the southern limit of its distribution in Honshu, and because it is found on a mountain as low as 858 meters above sea level.

In contrast, the northwestern side faces Osaka Bay, and is recommended for leisure activities at Nishikihama Beach, the closest beach to Osaka City, and for lunch, café tours, and shopping in the temple town developed around Kaizuka Gobo Gansenji.
Nishikihama Beach has obtained the international environmental certification “Blue Flag” in 2024 for its clean and safe waters.
There is also a super public bath near the beach, where you can relax and soak in the hot water with a meal after a lot of fun in the sea.
The Mizuma Railway and community buses are convenient starting points for trips to various spots.

There are very few restaurants in the vicinity of Mizuma no Yado, especially those that are open at night.
Many restaurants and eateries that are open during the day are also open on regular holidays and without fixed hours, so it is essential to do your homework beforehand.

Supermarket/Convenience store
There are few stores around Mizuma no Yado, but the nearest supermarket is open 24 hours a day, and there are also ATMs, bakeries, drugstores, 100-yen stores, dry cleaners, and other stores necessary for daily life.
The supermarket in particular is open 24 hours a day, so food can be purchased even if it is late.
There is also a convenience store in the opposite direction.
