Lots of delicious food from Senshu! Gourmet Food in Kumatori-cho

The Senshu area is the largest producer of vegetables in Osaka Prefecture, has a thriving fishing industry, and is the birthplace of the “Inunaki Pork” brand.
Kumatori-cho, where “Gomon no yado” is located, is a town near the mountains between Izumisano-shi and Kaizuka-shi in the Senshu area.

Kumatori-cho has a thriving agricultural industry.
In addition to the water eggplants and onions for which Senshu is famous, the town produces one of the largest harvests of taro and other potatoes, cabbage, Japanese butterbur, green onions, garland chrysanthemums, and other vegetables in Japan.
Fresh vegetables produced locally in Senshu are sold daily at supermarkets in the town and at produce stands in Izumisano-shi.
 
In such a Kumatori-cho, there are many restaurants that offer delicious food made with the finest ingredients.

Aramatsu

• This Japanese restaurant is a hideaway in a residential area.
  For lunch, enjoy a set meal that includes seasonal vegetables, meat, pork, chicken, fish, and other carefully prepared main dishes, as well as several small bowls of cooked food, miso soup, pickles, and dessert.
  Dinner reservations are required at least three days in advance.

Ramen Nori

• This ramen restaurant serves slow-cooked chicken white broth, a rarity in Senshu.
  The broth is a cross between “Daisen Chicken” and “Inunaki Pork”, and there are two types to choose from: Shio (salt) and Shoyu (soy sauce).
  The chashu pork is thick, moist, and juicy. The topping of aji-tama goes well with the ramen.

• This gyoza restaurant offers a wide variety of gyoza (grilled, steamed, and boiled gyoza), popular kakuni dishes, and locally brewed craft beer.
  The small gyoza dumplings, made with SPF pork from Miyazaki and Kagoshima and vegetables freshly picked in Senshu, a local town in Japan, are so small that you can eat as many as you like.

Bistro Rue de la Gare

• Authentic casual French cuisine prepared by a female chef with experience as a chef in France.
  Seasonal ingredients, locally produced eggs, and vegetables purchased from time to time are carefully prepared, and you can enjoy cheese and wine directly imported from France.

• Izakaya and chicken restaurant near Kumatori Station.
  Each table is equipped with a table-top stove, and fresh chicken is grilled at your own pace.
  Various parts of chicken are available, and you can enjoy as many parts of chicken as you like.

• A restaurant specializing in shish-kebabs and smoked food. It is a hideout-like restaurant tucked away in the back of a residential area. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner by reservation only, and is limited to two groups per day.
  The restaurant offers a course of 10 skewers, raw vegetables, an entrée, rice dish, pickles, and dessert.

Bicycle rental at the inn

• There are few restaurants near “Gomon no yado”, but the inn rents two bicycles.
  Many restaurants in Kumatori Town do not have parking lots or are too small, so it is very convenient to use bicycles to get around.
  Anyone who uses “Gomon no yado” is welcome to use the bicycles.
